BACOLOD CITY – A 42-year-old employee of the Department of Education (DepEd) died in a motorcycle accident on Sunday in Purok 2, Barangay Magallon Cadre, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.
The victim, identified only as “Jude,” an administrative staff member from Barangay Guinpanaan, reportedly crashed into a parked carabao cart while heading home from a disco at the town plaza.
Police said Jude lost control of his motorcycle and struck the steel bar of the cart, which was left along the roadside.
Police Maj. Romulo Gepilango, chief of the Moises Padilla Municipal Police Station, said the victim may have been under the influence of alcohol and failed to notice the cart due to poor lighting.
Jude sustained serious injuries to the chest and face and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
