JORDAN, Guimaras — Small and medium-scale business owners in Guimaras will no longer need to travel to the mainland to process environmental requirements, as the Department of Environment and Natural Resources will bring its services directly to the island through the DENR Permitting on Wheels program on April 14–15, 2026.
In Western Visayas, the rollout will be held at the Provincial Capitol grounds in Jordan, where technical personnel from DENR, the Environmental Management Bureau and the Mines and Geosciences Bureau will staff kiosks in a one-stop shop setup.
The activity aims to streamline the application process for local entrepreneurs and project managers by making regulatory services more accessible within the province.
Among the services available are assistance for Environmental Compliance Certificate and Certificate of Non-Coverage applications, as well as support for Self-Monitoring Reports and Compliance Monitoring Reports.
The mobile service will also handle Permit to Operate and discharge permit applications, Hazardous Waste Generator ID registration, and Pollution Control Officer accreditation.
Land and forestry-related services will include assistance on land survey and titling, lease and appraisal or reappraisal of foreshore areas, tenurial instruments, and permits to transport non-timber forest products and wildlife, including flora and fauna.
Geosciences-related assistance will include the processing of Geohazard Investigation Reports.
The DENR Permitting on Wheels program will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days of the activity.
By bringing services closer to communities, the initiative seeks to support easier access to government transactions while helping ensure that local business projects comply with environmental laws and regulations.
The Environmental Management Bureau leads the processing of key environmental permits and clearances, while the Mines and Geosciences Bureau provides technical services on geohazards, land management and related concerns, making the one-stop setup especially useful for island-based applicants with multiple permitting needs.
