The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Region 6 has joined DENR offices nationwide in piloting the implementation of a Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA) for its employees.
The pilot implementation will run for three months, from January 2, 2026, to March 27, 2026, following the approval of DENR Administrative Order (DAO) No. 2025-34, Civil Service Commission Memorandum Circular (CSC MC) No. 06, series of 2022, and the Commission on Audit and Department of Budget and Management Joint Circular No. 1, series of 2022.
Under the FWA, all DENR offices in Western Visayas, including Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Offices (PENROs) and Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices (CENROs), will operate from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday.
The adjusted schedule is intended to accommodate official transactions while maintaining uninterrupted delivery of essential services across the region.
Personnel required to report on-site daily due to the nature of their work, such as animal keepers, checkpoint personnel, and those performing similar essential functions, will continue to follow existing reporting arrangements.
DENR said the initiative is designed to promote work-life balance among employees while aligning with the State’s policy to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for the agency’s workforce.
The pilot run will allow DENR to assess the effectiveness of the flexible work setup before deciding on its long-term implementation across its offices. (DENR 6)
