IN PURSUIT of ensuring a balanced, protected and conserved environment and natural resources for all, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Region VI has completed its FY 2020-2022 Medium-Term Environment and Natural Resources (ENR) Plan.
The DENR 6, through its Planning and Management Division (PMD), recently conducted a two-day presentation and critiquing of the FY 2020-2022 Provincial Medium-Term ENR Plan of the different provinces here in Western Visayas.
The activity was attended by the PENR Officers, provincial technical and management services division chiefs and planning officers from the DENR 6 field offices during which the participants presented their Provincial Medium-Term ENR Plan in order to facilitate its finalization for submission to the DENR Central Office.
The Medium Term ENR Plan used the Sustainable Integrated Area Development Strategy (SIAD) and Integrated Environmental Management (IEM) planning approaches in the plan formulation/ development.
The plan is envisioned to provide a strategic roadmap for the DENR’s conservation, management and sustainable development of the environment, natural resources and biodiversity.
In formulating the Plan, a bottom-up process was done which involved the participation of ENR stakeholders and beneficiaries.
All plans from the field form part of the regional plan which will also be part of the national ENR Medium-Term Plan.
DENR-6 Regional Executive Director Francisco E. Milla Jr. said the presentation and critiquing of the FY 2020-2022 Provincial Medium-Term ENR Plan will institutionalize reforms in improving the planning process through the formulation of Medium-Term ENR Plan using Geographic Information System (GIS).
“The ENR Medium-Term Plan shall serve as or blueprint to guide us on how to better implement the agency’s programs and projects,” said RED Milla. (DENR-6)
