Dengue cases in Capiz surge to 783

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Dengue cases continued to surge in the province of Capiz.
Data from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) indicated that the province has recorded 783 cases (with four deaths) from January 1 to Oct 8, 2022, or 283.82 percent higher compared to the same period last year with 204 cases.
About 30.78 percent of the cases are between 10 and 19 years old. The youngest was a 1-month-old child while the oldest was 86 years old.
Meanwhile, the PHO identified 11 barangays in the province with a high number of dengue cases:
- Matagnop, Dao
- Poblacion Ilaya, Dao
- Poblacion Ilaya, Maayon
- Poblacion Proper, Mambusao
- Tacas, Pontevedra
- Jolongajog, Pontevedra
- Mangoso, Sigma
- Dumulog, Roxas City
- Banica, Roxas City
- Libas, Roxas City, and
- Mongpong, Roxas City.
