Bacolod City – The 60-year-old male categorized as Person Under Investigation(PUI) who died last week is negative for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Dr. Grace Tan, spokesperson of the Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19, confirmed the report Thursday night.
PUI are persons with signs and symptoms and have travel history to infected areas or may have been exposed to positive cases.
The PUI with Stage 4 colon cancer expired due to difficulty of breathing last March 17, 2020, Tan said.
She added that the patient had no history of travel or contact with a confirmed case.
Tan also said that Bacolod City has 27 PUIs since Feb 2, 2020 (12 females, 15 males).
Eight are currently confined and isolated in different hospitals (six males, two females) all Filipinos.
The confirmed case in the city remains at one, a 56-year-old male. Tan said the patient is doing better.
Also, 25 specimens were sent to Manila for tests. One was positive, 16 negative, 8 eight still pending.
All patients are in stable condition.
Persons Under Monitoring (PUM) numbered to 1,614, wherein 1,258 are in quarantine while 356 have completed home quarantine.
PUMs are asymptomatic but have travel history to infected areas or may have been exposed to positive cases.
