An alleged female combatant of the New People’s Army (NPA) was killed during an encounter with government troops over the weekend in Tapaz, Capiz.
The Philippine Army’s 3rd Infantry Division confirmed that the fatality was Christine May Capaducio, believed to be the daughter of Lucia Capaducio, chairperson of the Paghugpong sang mga Mangunguma sa Panay kag Guimaras (PAMANGGAS).
Christine, who reportedly used the aliases Sheryl, Elsa, Paday, and Isa, was killed in a clash with the 61st Infantry Battalion (61IB) at Sitio Naatip, Barangay Lahug, Tapaz, Capiz.
Her body was recovered at the scene.
Col. Erwin Rommel Lamzon, chief of the 3rd Division Public Affairs Office, said former rebels identified the remains.

She allegedly served as the platoon medic of the dismantled Regional Headquarters of the Komiteng Rehiyon–Panay (RHQ, KR-P).
An M16 rifle and several personal belongings were seized from her.
In addition to testimonies from former rebels, intelligence reports confirmed Christine’s identity and her active involvement in the armed movement.
Maj. Gen. Michael Samson, commander of the 3rd Infantry Division, commended the swift response of government forces and the vigilance of the local community.
“This successful operation is a testament to the growing cooperation between our troops and the people,” Samson said.
“It sends a clear message that the remnants of the CTG have no place to hide.”
He reaffirmed the division’s commitment to protecting communities and dismantling the remaining threats to peace and development in Panay.
“The people deserve to live free from fear and violence,” he added.
Samson urged the remaining members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) to abandon armed struggle and pursue peace.
“I urge those who are still in the mountains to reflect on what happened to their comrade,” he said.
“There is no future in violence.”
“Return to the folds of the law, embrace peace, and avail yourselves of the government’s reintegration and amnesty programs.”
“We are ready to help you rebuild your lives.”
