‘DARE TO KNOW THE TRUTH’ ON 8TH PUP RADIO CONFERENCE
MANILA – Despite the ongoing pandemic, PUP DZMC – YCG will virtually hold its 8th edition of PUP Radio Conference 2021 with the theme “EPIKO: Radio in the Eye of Truth-tellers” on March 12, 2021 via Facebook Live and Zoom.
PUP Radio Conference 2021 shall feature radio and media professionals’ stories of survival in different eras and time through the following topics: The Climate of Media Freedom and Independence, When Alternative Facts Replace Actual Facts, The Digital Transformation of the Radio Industry, and The Role of Radio amidst the Health Crisis.
This edition aims to demystify and unravel all twisted ideas behind the microphone with the help of the highly respected and known personalities in the radio industry.
This year also marks the debut of PUP Radio Festival, a competition which aims to showcase students’ talents, skills, and creativity in radio production.
The said competition is open to all students nationwide and offers three categories open for competing, namely: 5 Minute Radio News Production, Radio Podcasting, and Radio Jingle Making. Best outputs and special recognitions will be awarded to all outstanding entries on March 14, 2021.
“This edition of the PUP Radio Conference would have to be the most daring yet in the past 7 years. Plus, this is the first time we will be commencing it online,” Francis Aron Riano, the project head of the said conference, reiterated.
PUP Radio Conference 2021 is co-presented by KTX.PH, ABS-CBN Film Restoration, Unilever Philippines, PHILUSA Corporation, T&J Salon Professionals, FranchiseManila.com, Omorfi.ph, Facundo’s, Aninag PH, and SHOOR. And, in partnership with Kumu, VXI, and QUICKFX.
PUP DZMC – YOUNG COMMUNICATORS’ GUILD (YCG) is the official student radio organization of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines solely based in the PUP College of Communication in Santa Mesa, Manila.
