Dao laborer arrested in drug sting

DAO, Capiz — A laborer was arrested early Sunday morning, June 21, in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Matagnop, Dao, Capiz.

Police identified the suspect as alias “Lalang,” 38, of the same village.

The suspect was arrested after a poseur-buyer bought a sachet of suspected shabu from him for PHP 500.

Police recovered from the suspect a black pouch containing three sachets of suspected shabu weighing 1 gram, with an estimated street value of PHP 6,800, and a lighter.

The operation was conducted after several residents complained about the suspect’s alleged illegal drug transactions.

The suspect is in the custody of the Dao Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being readied against him.
