ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A member of the Sangguniang Bayan of Dao, Capiz was elected president of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Capiz Chapter during elections held Wednesday morning, July 30, at Kapis Mansyon in Barangay Banica.
Councilor Edwin Andrada, along with other elected officers, ran unopposed.
The PCL Capiz Chapter provincial election for the 2025–2028 term was conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government–Capiz in coordination with the Commission on Elections.
Andrada will serve as the ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, replacing outgoing member Atty. Paul Ivan Baticados, a member of the Roxas City Sangguniang Panlungsod.
Dumalag Mayor Maria Concepcion Khukhu Castro administered the oath of office to Andrada and the newly elected PCL Capiz Chapter officers.
The newly elected officers are:
Vice President: Paolo Besa – Panay
Secretary General: Joan Adonay – Dao
Treasurer: Zoe Maria Felipe Herrera – Sapian
Auditor: Motre Bellosillo – Dumalag
Public Relations Officer: Junnel Beltran – President Roxas
Business Manager: Catherine San Antonio – Ivisan
Board of Directors:
- Ian Perez – Pilar
- Vincent Bolina – Pontevedra
- Remelo Valenzuela – Dumarao
- Mark Calinao – Panitan
- Steve Hijosa – Cuartero
- Wildie Durunio – Maayon
- Liezel Aldea – Tapaz
Meanwhile, Roxas City Councilor Bords Viterbo denied boycotting the PCL elections after only two of his fellow councilors were present at the event.
He clarified that attendance was not mandatory.
He added that he participated in the 2022–2025 elections in support of Councilor Paul Ivan Baticados, who was elected PCL Capiz Chapter president at the time.
Despite his absence, Viterbo assured the group of his full support and extended his congratulations to all the winners.
