ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A candidate for Sangguniang Bayan in Dao, Capiz has withdrawn from the race six days before the May 12 midterm elections.
Atty. Salud Milagros Villanueva, provincial election supervisor of the Commission on Elections (Comelec-Capiz), confirmed Tuesday afternoon that Larry Danos Sr. filed his certificate of withdrawal, stating he is no longer interested in running for municipal councilor.
Villanueva said the reason for his withdrawal was not specified.
Danos was running as an independent candidate.
Earlier, independent mayoral candidate Emmanuel “EJ” Grino also filed his withdrawal, leaving incumbent Mayor Jose “Jimbo” Barruela unopposed for re-election.
