Reigning and defending ONE Lightweight World Champion, Christian “The Warrior” Lee, expressed his desire in fighting one of the greats in the division, Filipino Eduard “Landslide” Folayang.
Although finalizing his preparations to defend his belt against Iuri Lapicus, Lee voiced out his admiration for Folayang adding that sharing the ring with the legend would be an honor.
“I would love to share the ONE Circle with Eduard Folayang. I have a lot of respect for all that he’s accomplished in his career, and I think that we could put on a great show for the fans,” Lee said.
Lee added that during Folayang’s younger years in ONE, he was one of the most devastating strikers in history and what makes him more dangerous is that his grappling and wrestling game is still developing.
“Eduard is a very good striker and is now rounding out his wrestling and jiu-jitsu. However, I feel that his main strengths are his heart and his killer instinct. He’s the two-time former ONE Lightweight World Champion, so he doesn’t have many weaknesses. I think he’s a great fighter,” emphasized Lee.
With plans of moving back to the featherweight division, Lee wants to have his last dance in the lightweight division to be against Folayang.
After securing a number one contender spot in the featherweight division, Lee wants to include himself as one of the few fighters to become a two-division world champion.
