Football sensation Cristiano Ronaldo added another career milestone to his storied career after overtaking Ali Daei’s 109 international goals world record.
The Portuguese superstar scored a brace during the 89th and 96th minute during their World Cup Qualifiers duel against Ireland to end up with the new world record of 111 made goals.
Ronaldo broke the Iranian record which he achieved in the span between 1993 and 2006 and is gunning to increase the tally with several matches left under his sleeves.
“I’m so happy, not only for the record but for the special moments with two goals at the end,” Ronaldo said.
Ronaldo reached the 111th-goal mark after appearing 180 times for Portugal since debuting for the national team in 2003 at the age of 18.
The legendary booter and his team are seeking to win their second straight game in the qualifiers as they tackle the tough squad of Qatar on September 5.
Ronaldo is currently in the spotlight of the professional football scene after completing his move from Juventus to Manchester United where he won eight major trophies from 2003-2009.
“Manchester United is a club that has always had a special place in my heart and I have been overwhelmed by all the messages I have received since the announcement on Friday,” Ronaldo added.
