BACOLOD City – A motorcycle rider died after he overshot the road in Barangay Gargato, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental last Sunday.
Police identified the victim as Mike Ellouise Vallejo, 23, of San Enrique town, a criminology graduate.
Captain Leonel Adolacion, deputy police chief of Hinigaran Municipal Police Station, said the victim was allegedly speeding on his way home when he overshot the road and later crashed into a tree.
Adolacion said that the victim’s father told the police that his son would usually drive fast using the motorcycle because he had joined a drag race.
Adolacion said the victim probably failed to control his speed, and due to the impact, suffered serious injuries.
He also said that the victim had no safety gear or a helmet.
