ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ – Another died from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Pontevedra, Capiz.
The 75-year-old male from Barangay Ameligan, Pontevedra was immediately buried Wednesday last week after being treated at the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital here.
In an official statement on Monday morning, the local government unit said the patient was admitted to the hospital on Oct 28, 2020 after showing COVID-like symptoms.
But the patient died few hours of the same day while awaiting the results of his swab test.
Based on his RT-PCR Test, the patient was positive for COVID-19, thus the need to cremate or bury the remains within 12 hours.
Based on the latest data released by the Capiz Provincial Health Office, Pontevedra has 70 COVID19 cases, with five deaths, and 62 recoveries.
Meanwhile, the province of Capiz has 60 new active cases for COVID-19, with 406 recoveries, and 30 deaths, for a total of 496 confirmed cases.
