ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has claimed 45 lives in Capiz.
Based on the data released by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) late Tuesday afternoon, the fatalities are in Roxas City, Pontevedra, Pilar, Cuartero, Dumarao, Jamindan, Maayon, and Mambusao.
The province currently has 116 active cases (105 asymptomatic and 11 symptomatic).
Capiz has 992 confirmed COVID cases with 741 recoveries.
Meanwhile, Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said that the Diagnostic and Laboratory Center acquired recently by the city government has already examined more than 500 specimens since its operations a month ago.
He said that not less than 50 specimens are examined daily.
“So far the results of the operations of the laboratory are laudable because the results were released in only a few hours,” Dadivas said.
The mayor said that other local government units from other towns of Capiz could also use the laboratory.
