ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Capiz rose to 811 after 8 more persons contracted the virus.
The Capiz Provincial Health Office (PHO) on Tuesday said six of the new cases are in Roxas City and one each from the towns of Pontevedra and Dumarao.
The PHO also reported that 11 persons have recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 660 while fatalities totaled 42.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Director of the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) confirmed that the Dumalag Municipal Police Station in Dumalag, Capiz is on lockdown after one of its officers was infected.
Police Colonel Julio T. Gustilo Jr., CPPO director, also corrected reports that the 33-year-old police officer was a member of the Roxas City police.
The police officer, who is from Dumarao town, is asymptomatic.
