ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Cases of the coronavirus disease 2019(Covid-19) in Capiz continued to rise following 24 more active cases that were added, ballooning the number to 54.
Based on data released by the Capiz Provincial Health Office (PHO) on May 27, the province has had 13,839 cases since March 2019 wherein 13,195 have recovered while 589 died.
The PHO has advised the public to observe Health Protocol while in public places and have themselves vaccinated against Covid-19.
Meanwhile, the province recorded 186 cases of dengue according to the PHO.
Based on Morbidity Week 20 from January 1 to May 20, 2023, the number of dengue cases is 63.16% higher compared to the same period last year at 114 cases only.
Tapaz topped the list with 67, followed by Roxas City (33), Dumalag and Pontevedra (11 each), Dumarao and Pilar (8), Mambusao, Panay, and Panitan (7 each), lvisan, Jamindan, and Sigma (5 each), Cuartero, Dao, and Sapian (4 each), and President Roxas (2).
