PRESIDENT ROXAS, Capiz – The two cousins who shot dead a barangay tanod or village police in Brgy. Manoling here surrendered Wednesday afternoon.
Gabriel Batan and Elohilo Batan yielded to Pilar town Vice Mayor Edvil John Alfaro who turned them over to the police.
Investigation by Master Sergeant Raffy Villariez of President Roxas Municipal Police Station indicated that victim Jerry Abendano went to the Batans’ house to ask them to lower the volume of their karaoke machine.
But instead of heeding the request, a heated argument ensued between the suspects and victim.
At the height of their argument, one of the Batans drew a gun and shot the victim’s chest.
Abendano died at the hospital.
It was learned that the suspects were drunk during the incident.
