BACOLOD City – A couple was arrested in a buy-bust operation at Purok Malipayon, Barangay 35 here last Saturday that ledto the seizure of 26 grams of suspected shabu worth P176,800.
Arrested were Jake Jimenez, 41, and his live-in partner Eliza Mae Dejole, 24, both residents of the said village.
Both are street level individuals, according to the police.
Police Lieutenant Joven Mogato, head of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said that Jimenez, who is the subject of the operation, had been arrested for illegal possession of dangerous drugs in 2015.
He was later released in 2021 from the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City after he served his sentence, Mogato said.
Mogato said that Jimenez has been monitored to have been allegedly engaging in illegal drug trade for eight months now.
Mogato said the illegal drugs might have been source out outside Western Visayas.
Police also recovered from them the P1,500 marked money, P200, a digital weighing scale, a lighter, a pair of scissors, and a pack of empty plastic sachets.
Mogato said that Dejole is a first time drug offender.
