BACOLOD City – Members of a family were wounded after their house was destroyed in a fire that left P1.5 million worth of damage at Purok Kaingin 1, Barangay Punta Taytay here yesterday.
The victims were identified as Rodolfo Ramos, 60; his wife Flordeliza, 59; and their son Peewee, 36.
According to a report from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire broke out around 3:23 a.m.
Inspector Jun Michael Manuel, deputy city fire marshal, said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Manuel said Ramos returned to the burning house to secure their motorcycle and vehicle, causing him to sustain first-degree burns on his left arm and right shoulder.
Manuel said that Flordeliza also suffered a first-degree burn in her right hand and an abrasion in her right leg, while Peewee had a first-degree burn in his left arm.
Fire out was declared around 4:02 a.m.
