BACOLOD City – A couple died after their motorcycle crashed into a truck at Barangay Balintawak, Escalante City, Negros Occidental at around 1 a.m. Friday.
Killed were Kyle Christian Arancillo, 20, of Barangay Hacienda Fe; and his girlfriend Cynthia Muñoz, 18, of Barangay Balintawak.
Investigation indicated that Arancillo, who drove the motorcycle, reportedly overtook another motorcycle while approaching a road curve.
But he miscalculated his speed and slammed into a truck parked on the roadside.
Both victims suffered head injuries and were declared dead at a hospital.
Lieutenant Colonel Necerato Sabando Jr., Escalante City police chief, said the victims were allegedly drunk when the accident happened.
