BACOLOD City – A couple was wounded after their van fell into a 15-foot deep roadside riprap at Barangay Tinampaan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental yesterday.
Police identified the victims as van driver Danilo Hedreana, and his wife Geraldine, both residents of Sagay City.
Police Lieutenant Lester Oliveros, deputy police chief of Cadiz City Police Station, said Hedreana reportedly overtook a vehicle and when he was about to return to his lane, he lost control of the van due to the rain-soaked road while approaching a sloping part of the road.
Oliveros said the van then hit the roadside barricade and fell into the riprap.
Both victims suffered injuries on their head and other parts of their bodies. They were referred to a hospital here.
The couple was on their way to Bacolod from Sagay City when the accident occurred.
