A COUPLE was arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation early morning of Oct. 4, 2019 in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
Jeffrey Carbona, 27, and his live-in partner, 24-year old April Joy Oribe, were arrested at their home in Barangay Airport around 4 a.m. Friday.
The couple yielded eight sachets of suspected shabu worth P10,000 and P1,500 buy bust money.
Police Major Marlon Valencia, Mandurriao police chief, said it took them a month of surveillance before finally nailing the couple.
Oribe is considered a high-value target. She surrendered under the Oplan Tokhang but did not undergo a community-based rehabilitation program.
The suspects admitted they were into drug use but denied peddling illegal drugs.
Carbona and Oribe are now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
