Couple caught for illegal drug trade charged

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police on Wednesday filed charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) against a couple who was arrested Tuesday morning, January 16, in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Hanglid, President Roxas, Capiz.

Alias Rowel and alias Chona, both residents of said place, were charged before the Capiz Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.

The police said that it took two weeks of monitoring and surveillance before the operation was conducted.

Authorities recovered from Rowel 9 sachets of suspected illegal drugs weighing around 15 grams and valued at P97,500.

The operatives recovered from Chona the P1,500 marked money.

They remain in the custody of President Roxas PNP.
