BACOLOD City – With MassKara Festival fast approaching in October 2022, the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 will double its security measures to prevent the possible entry of illegal drugs here during the festivity.
Police Brigadier General Leo Francisco, acting PRO-6 director, said that with the recent apprehension and huge recovery of illegal drugs in the region, it seems that the supply of illegal drugs is still on the ground.
“Kaya iyon talaga ang pagtutuunan namin ng pansin dahil kasama yan sa kautusan ni Chief PNP,” Francisco said.
“We do not care who gets caught or arrested, importante may mahuhuli kami within the bounds of the law,“ he added.
Local police believed that the huge volume of illegal drugs recovered from various apprehensions here were to be distributed during the festivity due to the influx of people in the province.
Police Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir, director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), has earlier ordered all station commanders to intensify their intelligence monitoring since the demand for illegal drugs increases during festivities due to the influx of people and visitors.
MassKara Festival will be held in October after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
Francisco said that the local police are preparing their security measures in time for the festival.
