Cops Seize P235K Worth of ‘Shabu’ in Pontevedra

ROXAS CITY, Capiz—Police seized an estimated PHP 235,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Pontevedra Municipal Police Station on the evening of Nov. 19 in Barangay Sublangon, Pontevedra.
Authorities identified the suspect as a 31-year-old resident of Barangay Tacas, referred to by the alias “Robert.” He was classified as a street-level individual (SLI).
Recovered during the operation were approximately 15 grams of suspected shabu and a homemade 12-gauge break-type shotgun loaded with live ammunition.
The suspect is currently in the custody of the Pontevedra police. Charges for violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, are being prepared against him.
