BACOLOD City – The San Carlos City Police Station in Negros Occidental has requested for the facial composite sketch of a possible suspect spotted at Barangay Palampas where provincial consultant for hospital operations Mariano Antonio “Marton” Cui III was gunned down on April 12.
Cui was shot by unidentified perpetrators believed to be armed with a sniper rifle on board a van while the victim was about to board his car in front of the Emerald Arcade.
Police Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, information officer of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), said the city police force is trying to collect information from the security guards of the building who can describe a suspicious-looking man who was reportedly seen cutting a branch of tree near the area and later rode a tricycle.
But Donasco said there has been no feedback yet as to the progress of the sketch.
In case an illustration is made, Donasco said that it is not conclusive yet that the image is the person who can be linked to the crime.
Donasco said that they are still continuously monitoring three vehicles linked to the killing, but police have yet to determine the motive on the incident.
Meanwhile, Donasco said that a total of 458 vehicles were apprehended for not having registration plates and conduction stickers this month.
Of the number, 454 were motorcycles, while four others were four-wheeled vehicles, Donasco said.
This is part of the provincial police force’s measure to intensify its anti-criminality campaign, to prevent the San Carlos incident from happening in other areas in the province.
