BACOLOD City – Police reprimanded the managements of some beach resorts in Barangay Punta Taytay here for allegedly violating guidelines under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lieutenant Gilbert Batiles, head of Police Station 9, said most of the beach resorts in the village opened and received guests and clients despite the prohibition to operate.
Batiles said resorts here are not allowed to operate while the city is still under GCQ in compliance with the national Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) guidelines.
Batiles said they received reports about the resumption of the resort operations and the accommodation of persons in the said venues, which also violated the health and safety protocols amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
He said they talked to the management of each resort and reminded them to follow the protocol.
“Wala man sila gin pasira, gin remind lang sila na bawal pa sila subong mag open tungod GCQ pa ta diri,” he added.
To ensure the compliance of the beach resorts, Batiles said they have intensified their monitoring and patrolling in the area.
