More than 100 wanted individuals are now behind bars following an intensified police crackdown across the region.
Police Regional Office 6 recorded the arrest of 105 fugitives across Western Visayas from July 1 through July 9.
The Philippine National Police routinely conducts these coordinated regionwide sweeps to clear backlogged arrest warrants and preempt local criminality.
Thirty of the apprehended suspects were officially classified by authorities as Most Wanted Persons.
The remaining 75 suspects fell under the official police category of Other Wanted Persons.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office logged the highest number of apprehensions with 40 successful arrests.
The Iloilo City Police Office followed in second place by securing 22 arrests.
The Aklan Police Provincial Office recorded the third-highest tally with 20 arrests.
Various other municipal and provincial police units contributed the remaining arrests to execute the regionwide campaign.
Police Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño, the Western Visayas police chief, credited this achievement to intelligence-driven operations.
Tuaño also highlighted the crucial role of strengthened coordination among internal police units and external government agencies.
The regional director noted that this operational success directly reflects the established culture of the regional police office.
He described this guiding institutional principle as “intelligence first, coordination always, and results that speak for themselves.”
“These 105 arrests are more than numbers; they represent justice served, communities made safer, and offenders held accountable,” Tuaño said.
“I commend our personnel for their discipline, persistence, and teamwork in bringing wanted persons before the courts,” he added.
Tuaño vowed that regional police forces will remain relentless in pursuing fugitives through continuous intelligence gathering.
He promised to further strengthen strategic partnerships with allied government agencies and local communities.
The police chief emphasized that every lawful law enforcement effort ultimately contributes to a safer and more secure Western Visayas.
