BACOLOD City – Captain Leo Estopa, head of Police Station 2 here, dismissed reports of the alleged abduction of a woman on 19th Lacson streets here last Nov 19, 2020.
Estopa was tasked by the Bacolod City Police Office to probe the case, considering that the incident was reported in his area of jurisdiction.
Two weeks ago, a man reported to the police that a woman who was walking alone was allegedly forcibly taken into a car.
Estopa said they asked other police stations to check if there was a reported missing person in the past week, but no report was recorded.
Estopa said they also coordinated with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) regarding the plate number of a vehicle which was allegedly seen used by the perpetrators, but the said office had no record of such car plate.
Estopa said there was no abduction that happened, adding that the person who reported the incident was probably mistaken.
“Wala man sang may nag report na pamilya na may nadula sila na himata,” he said.
Estopa said they also tapped the Anti-Kidnapping Group to help them in the case, but it was later found out to be not existing.
