BACOLOD City – Mayor Evelio Leonardia on Thursday lauded the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) for what he described as a successful campaign against illegal drugs.
In a press conference, Leonardia said the volume of illegal drugs recovered by the police in their operations shows that there is serious effort in the campaign.
The BCPO under Police Col. Henry Biñas early this week recovered more than P3 million worth of illegal drugs.
Leonardia said records will show that Bacolod City recorded the highest volume of recoveries in the Visayas.
“It shows that our police is doing their job,” Leonardia said.
Meanwhile Leonaria said that recent killing of a businessman is more related to a drug war rather than an indication of lawlessness in the city.
Leonardia said it does not affect at all the business friendliness atmosphere in the city of Bacolod.
