ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 36-year-old police officer was wounded when his motorcycle crashed with a car Monday afternoon at Sitio Bangkal, Barangay Maninang in Sapian town.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Louie Banate, traffic investigator of Sapian Municipal Police Station, Police Staff Sergeant Michael Balsote is now in stable condition at Western Visayas Medical Center.
Balsote is a member of Mambusao Municipal Police Station and resident of Barangay Ondoy, Ivisan, Capiz.
Banate said his fellow officer suffered fractures and wounds on his feet the reason why the attending physician of Mambusao District Hospital advised that he be transferred to Iloilo City.
Balsote was on his way to Mambusao from Sapian town when the tire of his motorcycle suddenly deflated, the reason why he lost control of his bike and eventually crashed into a car driven by Leo Berganio of Brgy. Burias also in Mambusao town.
Bergonio, who voluntarily surrendered to the police, said that he is willing to shoulder the hospital expenses of the police officer.
Balsote was wearing a helmet when the incident happened.
