Cop loses service firearm, possibly stolen

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A police officer of the Roxas City PNP lost his government-issued service firearm while on his way home to Barangay Lonoy, Sapian, Capiz.
Staff Sgt. Michael Jay Luces, 36, a native of Brgy. Lonoy, Sapian but temporarily residing in Dorado Subd., Brgy. Inzo Arnaldo here reported the incident to their station.
Luces said the incident happened September 10, 2021. He placed his caliber 9mm pistol (Glock 17, serial number PNP 14651) with 2 spare magazines inside a pouch, along with the key to his Toyota Vios car, and P5,000 cash. He then placed the pouch inside his backpack.
He said that he was on his way home on board his Honda XRM motorcycle when he discovered that the zipper of his backpack was already opened and the clutch bag was missing.
Luces said he went back to his relatives, where he passed by, to look for the pouch but no to avail.
