Cop killed in Negros Oriental

BACOLOD City – A police officer was shot dead by two unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants at Barangay 1, Siaton, Negros Oriental late Thursday night.
The victim was Police Staff Sergeant Bobster Guillarawan, who was assigned to the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company in Barangay Napacao.
Chief Master Sergeant Edelberto Euroba III, public information officer of Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (Norppo), said the victim was driving his motorcycle when he was waylaid by the gunmen.
He was on his way home from duty when the attack happened around 11:30 p.m., Euroba said.
Guillarawan was taken to a hospital, where he was declared dead.
Euroba said the perpetrators may have followed the victim’s movement before the killing.
He said that Guillarawan was previously assigned as an intelligence operative of Bayawan City Police Station.
He said the victim had no previous derogatory records or complaints against him.
Police have yet to determine the motive of the killing, although they already have persons of interest.
