BACOLOD City – A police officer was injured in a stabbing incident at Barangay Talubangi, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Monday.
Wounded was Police Staff Sergeant John Perez, 54, a personnel of Kabankalan City Police Station.
A report from the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6, said that Perez was rendering his duty at the said village around 9:30 a.m. when he was suddenly attacked by 33-year-old Noel Bautista with a broken piece of beer bottle.
Perez was hit on his left abdomen and other parts of his body.
He was able to disarm the suspect and arrested him through the help of a village watchman.
He is now stable at Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital.
Meanwhile, Bautista is detained at the police station and will be facing charges.
