Cop Dies in Motorcycle, Truck Collision in Roxas City

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 31-year-old policeman was killed after his motorcycle collided with a wing van truck on Thursday morning, October 3, in Barangay Bolo, Roxas City.
The Roxas City Police identified the victim as Patrolman Nestor Vegas Jr., 31, married, and a member of the 1st Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) in Aklan province.
According to the police investigation, Vegas was driving his Honda PCX WW150M motorcycle on his way home to Barangay Libas, Roxas City, when he collided with a wing van truck driven by Rodel Avelino Sr., 46, of Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City.
The accident occurred around 5 a.m., with Vegas sustaining fatal injuries that resulted in his death.
The truck driver is currently in the custody of the Roxas City Police for proper disposition.
