A lone suspect robbed a convenience store at Jaro, Iloilo City early morning of May 19, 2022.
Police reports indicated that the suspect, who was wearing a bonnet and a coverall suit, entered the store around 3:20 a.m. Thursday,
He approached Jecky Gardonia, the store cashier, claiming that he wanted to pay for a boiled egg.
But when Gardonia, 26, a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Dumalag Capiz and temporarily residing at Barangay Rizal Pala-Pala, Iloilo City, opened the cashier’s post, the suspect drew closer to him.
Gastonia then told the suspect that he was not allowed to get close to the cashier as he was not authorized to do so.
The suspect ignored the victim and drew a handgun from his belt bag.
He cocked the gun and poked it at Gardonia while ordering the latter to duck and never make any move.
The suspect then took the money amounting to around P10,000 from the cash register.
He then boarded a motorcycle with registration plate 6564 IM and headed towards Barangay Buhang, Jaro.
A security guard of the nearby subdivision informed the police of the incident.
Reports indicated that only two store staff were on duty during the heist.
The establishment apparently did not hire a security guard.
