Contractor will fix collapsed Promenade project portion

ROXAS City, Capiz – The City government here assured that it will compel the contractor of the Roxas City Riverside Promenade (Phase III) Project to finish the project and correct whatever defects.
The statement is in reaction to the collapse of a portion of the Promenade Project at Washington St., Barangay 6 here on the morning of Nov 12, 2022.
“For the information of the public, the implementation of this project is by contract. It was awarded to MBM Construction with office at Barangay Dulunan Bolo, this City, with a contract price of Php14,100,000.00,” the statement read.
To date, the Roxas City Government has paid the contractor 30.78% of the contract price, or equivalent to Php4,340,431.00.
In relation to the above-stated incident, Mayor Ronnie Dadivas has already directed the Roxas City Engineer’s Office to determine the cause of the incident.
“Likewise, an independent committee shall be created to conduct a thorough investigation as to the overturning of the portion of the structure and thereafter submit their findings. The Roxas City Government assured the public that forthwith this incident shall be dealt with accordingly.”
“It is significant to note that the contractor has agreed, as per its contract with the Roxas City Government, that it will execute and complete the works and remedy any defect in the project in conformity with the provisions of its contract.”
