Two construction workers were arrested in a police anti-illegal drug operation late evening of Feb. 9 at La Paz, Iloilo City.
Suspects Denmark Castor, 27, and Glin Mark Jover, 26, both residents of Barangay Tabuc Suba, La Paz were arrested after selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P6,000 to a poseur buyer from the Members of the Iloilo City Police Office – City Drug Enforcement Unit (ICPO-CDEU).
When they were later frisked, CDEU operatives recovered seven more sachets of suspected shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia and other non-drug items.
Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez, Jr., ICPO-CDEU chief, said the seized drugs weighed around 80 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P544,000.
He said that the two had been placed under surveillance following information of their alleged illegal drug trade.
Castro and Jover are now detained and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
