BACOLOD City – A misunderstanding believed to be caused by drunkenness claimed the life of a construction worker who was stabbed at Purok Chichirica, Barangay Poblacion East, Candoni, Negros Occidental yesterday.
The victim was identified as Dionesio Malubay, 51, of the said village.
Police Major Ronald Santillan, Candoni town police chief, said Malubay was found with multiple stab wounds at the roadside around 1:25 a.m.
He was taken to Candoni Rural Health Unit but was declared dead on arrival.
Santillan said the victim reportedly came from a drinking session with some companions and was probably on his way home when the incident happened.
Santillan said they already have a person of interest, who is the last person that was seen with the victim prior to the incident.
