BACOLOD CITY — A buy-bust operation led to the arrest of a 40-year-old construction worker in Hacienda Pa-et, Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday.
Authorities seized approximately 20 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 136,000 during the operation.
Police conducted casing and surveillance operations against the suspect after receiving information about his alleged involvement in illegal drug activities.
Operatives carried out the buy-bust after the suspect allegedly handed a sachet of suspected shabu to a police asset in exchange for PHP 500.
The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) reiterated that its campaign against illegal drugs remains relentless and sustained.
Authorities vowed to continue pursuing individuals involved in the illegal drug trade, which they said threatens public safety and communities, until offenders are brought to justice.
