ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A construction worker from Sigma, Capiz, was arrested early on Thursday, March 7, during a drug buy-bust operation by the local police in Brgy. Dayhagon, Sigma.
The 34-year-old suspect, known as Alias Marvin from Brgy. Poblacion Sur was apprehended at approximately 1:39 am.
Authorities recovered from him two medium heat-sealed sachets and four small sachets of suspected shabu, the buy-bust money amounting to P500, one plastic sachet of marijuana, a black pouch, and P120 in personal cash.
The police have estimated the total value of the seized suspected shabu to be P204,000, with the haul weighing approximately 30 grams, while the marijuana is around 10 grams.
Despite the evidence, the suspect vehemently denied using illegal drugs.
Currently detained at the Sigma PNP station, he faces charges under the Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
This operation was a collaborative effort between the Ivisan, Sapian, and Sigma Municipal Police Stations.
