ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 25-year-old construction worker charged for the crime of rape and sexual assault was arrested by police Wednesday afternoon at Barangay Tacas, Pontevedra, Capiz.
Police identified the suspect as Regie Desin Arindaje of Barangay De Lapaz, Banate, Iloilo.
Arindaje, according to the police, is the No. 3 Most Wanted Person in Banate town.
The warrant for his arrest was issued by Judge Mauricio Gomez of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 66, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo on September 9, 2019.
The court recommended a P120,000 bail for his temporary liberty. The suspect was turned over to Banate PNP station for proper disposition.
Meanwhile, five persons were nabbed by the Bantay Dagat of Panay for alleged illegal fishing in the waters of Panay, Capiz Wednesday afternoon.
Police identified the suspects as Greg Tenorio, 38, (Boat Captain of FB JN “Semi-Palopad” owned by Ferdinand Bajada) and crew members Remy Pelisco, 60; Romar Zamora, 20; Jay Adreias, 32; and Eduardo Dela Cruz Jr., 20, all residents of Brgy. Libas here.
Recovered from the suspects were 20 kilos of assorted fish, fishing nets, and other fishing gears.
The suspects and the fishing boat and fishing gears are in the custody of Panay Municipal Police Station.
