A construction worker and a driver were the latest additions to the number of suspected drug peddlers arrested in Iloilo City.
The suspects, Ramon Panes and Rie Pomares, were collared 15 minutes apart on May 27, 2021.
Panes, 47, a taxi driver and resident of Alta Tierra Village in Jaro, Iloilo was arrested 9:30 p.m. Thursday at Barangay San Pedro, Molo district.
Members of the Iloilo City Police Station 4 recovered two plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P35,000 and the P6,200 marked money.
Meanwhile, members of the Iloilo City Police Station 4 nabbed Pomares 9:45 p.m. at Barangay Banuyao, Lapaz, Iloilo City.
The 41-year-old suspect is a construction worker residing at Barangay Balabago, Jaro. He allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P15,000 to a police undercover agent.
Recovered from Pomares were 4 plastic sachets of suspected shabu with estimated DDB (Dangerous Drugs Board) value of P60,000.
The two suspects are now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
