A 26-year-old construction worker was arrested in Barangay 2, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, for allegedly sexually molesting his minor niece.
Police served a warrant of arrest against the suspect, identified only by the alias “Jen,” who is listed as the seventh most wanted person in the Negros Island Region.
Authorities said the suspect faces five counts of rape.
The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) said the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim on multiple occasions.
Police said the victim disclosed the alleged abuse after the suspect later accused her of stealing money from him.
PRO-NIR said the arrest underscores the regional police’s commitment to pursuing fugitives, particularly those accused of crimes against children.
The regional police office reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against sexual abuse, violence, and other crimes involving minors.
