Computer technician nabbed with gun, drugs in Sigma

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A computer technician was arrested Friday afternoon, Sept. 11, in a buy-bust operation conducted by police in Barangay Poblacion Norte, Sigma, Capiz.
Police identified the suspect as alias “Paul,” 37, married, and a resident of Barangay Bunga, Mambusao, Capiz.
The suspect was arrested by personnel of the Sigma Municipal Police Station for alleged violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Recovered from the suspect were a .45-caliber pistol with a magazine, five rounds of live ammunition, and a PHP 1,000 bill used as buy-bust money.
During an incidental search led by Police Cpl. Joenil D. Delfin, operatives also recovered five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 4 grams with an estimated street value of PHP 24,000.
Police said a case for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will also be filed against the suspect.
