Complaints Filed Against Five Transport Co-ops

The Cooperative Development Authority Western Visayas (CDA-6) has filed formal complaints against five transport cooperatives in Negros Occidental and Iloilo City.

CDA-6 legal counsel Atty. Jickney Fuentes said the cooperatives’ names were not disclosed to avoid preempting the ongoing cases.

The charges involve violations of specific by-laws, the CDA Omnibus Rules of Procedure, and election-related issues.

“As far as these transport cooperatives are concerned, the cases are still pending with the Adjudicatory Division of the CDA,” Fuentes said.

He added that hearings have been conducted for two of the cooperatives, while the remaining three are scheduled for December.

“We are hopeful to resolve these pending cases as soon as possible. Our legal team and the Adjudication Division are working diligently to address every verified complaint,” he said.

Fuentes clarified that the CDA’s jurisdiction is limited to specific cases, such as election-related complaints, mismanagement, and violations of CDA policies.

He noted that labor cases, breach of contract complaints, and criminal cases must be filed in regular courts or referred to the appropriate agencies.
