BACOLOD City – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) and local government forces in Negros Occidental strengthened their coordination in preparation for the May 2022 elections.
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Negros Occidental and the Comelec discussed the matter yesterday during the Provincial Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Council (JPSCC) meeting at Nocppo headquarters in Barangay Estefania here.
The council aims to increase their monitoring for possible election hotspot areas in the province.
Atty. Kathrina Trinio- Caňa, Bacolod City Election Officer IV representing Atty. Ian Lee M. Ananoria, acting provincial election supervisor, discussed Comelec Resolution No. 10695 that prescribes the calendar of activities pertaining to the elections to include the prohibited acts.
Earlier, security forces were reminded to be apolitical and to ensure that the elections will be peaceful and orderly.
