Collector drowns in turbulent river

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A collector was drowned to death while crossing an overflow bridge at Brgy. Quinat-uyan, Maayon, Capiz Monday afternoon.

Investigation by the Maayon police indicated that Jolo Agam, 27, of Barangay Bolo, Roxas City was on his way to Sigma town on board a motorcycle to remit his collection.

But when he tried to cross the overflow bridge, the river swept his motorcycle.

The collector and the motorcycle fell into the river and were carried away by the strong water current.

Residents tried to rescue him but no to avail. His body was recovered in Panit-an town.
